Gloppus was a Gronk who befriended Wulf Sternhammer during the Papa Por-Ka incident.
Personality[]
Like all Gronks, Gloppus was very timid, polite and shy. He formed a friendship with the bounty hunter Wulf Sternhammer — possibly because they were opposites of each other — and was into recycling.
History[]
Gloppus was a passenger aboard the travel liner Sondheim. Being the timid creature he was, anad apparently not too concerned with his personal comfort, he elected to travel in a large wooden trunk in the cargo bay so he wouldn't get hurt. It was there he met the two bounty hunters Wulf Sternhammer and Johnny Alpha, initally suprising them by eating some metal with the mouth in his stomach, before befriending them. Shortly afterwards the space pirate Papa Por-Ka boarded the ship with his men. Gloppus hid in his trunk during all the fighting. However, after finding out his two friends had been captured, Gloppus showed an amazing amount of bravery and ate through the bars on their cell, freeing them and allowing them to kill Por-Ka. Sadly the excitement had proven too much for Gloppus who began to die from a hearts attack. In his dying breath he wished for Wulf to use his fur to make a coat. Wulf fulfilled Gloppus' last request, and wore his fur until he himself died.
Trivia[]
- Gloppus was the first and only named Gronk to appear in Strontium Dog.
- Wulf and Johnny later became friends with Gloppus' brother, who travelled with them for a while and shared many of their adventures.
