Gorilla was a rather dim-witted criminal who managed to get his hands on a high powered piece of weaponry.

Gorilla was headstrong and very dim, making it easy for Judge Dredd to get the upper hand.
History[]
Through some unexplained reason, Gorilla had gotten hold of a deadly solar powered heat ray, capable of disintegrating any it was used on. His first action was to use it on a Judge, killing the lawman. He then leaves a note on the Judges ashes calling out Judge Dredd. Dredd was quickly able to figure out what killed his fellow lawman and who it was that did, knowing this he went to Whether Control and made them create storm-clouds ensuring Gorilla's weapon wouldn't work. Dredd then chases Gorilla and his gang down, Gorilla manages to escape into a space centre and jumps into a shuttle, not knowing it was set for a one year course round the sun. Gorilla likely didn't come back alive.
