Maria Cosgrove was for many years Judge Dredd's landlady and a recurring character in many early stories. She quit after the numerous attacks on her life became too much and became a vagrant in the Cardboard City.
Personality[]
Maria spoke in a rich Italian accent and would constantly buy Dredd new products hoping to impress him, and often cooked him meals such as paella and minestrone. She hated Walter with a passion and would constantly bicker with the droid. Unknown even to Dredd, Maria had actually came from a wealthy family which she had abandoned and made the entire Italian persona up.
